A brief history of rhinos in Botswana

Once abundant across Africa, black and white rhinos have been pushed to the brink of extinction by relentless poaching. Fifteen years ago, Wilderness Safaris and the Botswana Government agreed to take decisive action. They began moving rhinos in peril to build new populations, wild and free, in the safety of the Okavango Delta, where, today, RCB monitors and protects these precious animals. Take a stroll through the years to see how the rhinos fate has changed.

Since 2008, more than 3,000 black and white rhinos have been killed by criminal syndicates. More rhinos are being killed than are being born. This is the slippery slope to extinction. RCB will make sure that does not happen.”
